Short description:

This elegant ballpoint pen was made from the rare wood of the boxwood. Boxwood is extremely dense, which allows for excellent processing and particularly smooth sanding and polishing. In combination with the special color of the boxwood, a unique writing instrument is created.

Material:

boxwood is known for its exceptional hardness, density and fine texture. It has a uniform, light yellow to slightly golden color and an almost inconspicuous grain, making it ideal for precise carving and turning work.

Due to its high density, boxwood is very heavy and durable, which is why it is often used for musical instruments, inlay work and artistic engravings. Its smooth, fine-grained structure allows for exceptionally detailed processing. Boxwood grows very slowly, which makes the wood particularly valuable, as larger pieces are rare. In addition, the European boxwood is endangered because an insect called box tree moth the stocks have been massively decimated.

Unfortunately, this wood was only available to me because the box tree moth had caused severe damage to the plant in the garden of a family friend. Counting the tree rings showed that the tree had been growing there for over 85 years.

The click ballpoint pen is equipped with a mine the German company Schneider which can be easily replaced by yourself.
