Vase made of Italian plane tree

Short description:

The grain of this plane wood vase is reminiscent of the fine water circles that form when a stone falls into water. The height of the vase is approximately 23 cm.

Material:

Plane trees are extremely popular city trees that are often heavily overgrown. Particularly fascinating are the so-called " mirror rays " that appear in the wood and are created by the horizontal transport of water and nutrients. This structure can also be found in other types of wood such as oak, but the mirror rays appear in a completely different form.

The wood for this vase comes from my friend Francesco's garden in Vicenza. Unfortunately, the tree had to be cut down due to disease.

Please note : This vase is made of wood and is therefore only suitable for dried flowers. Filling it with water is not possible as this would damage the material
