Short description:
This vase made of Italian ash is characterized by a striking contrast of the annual rings and a strong, rich color. The vase has a height of approx. 35.5 cm.
Material:
Ash is a light wood that is valued for its high resilience. It is an open-pored hardwood that is particularly suitable for making axe handles due to its robustness. Like the elm, the ash is threatened with extinction and is becoming increasingly rare. The main reason for this decline is ash dieback, a disease caused by a fungus.
The wood for this vase comes from my friend Fillipo's garden near Turin. I cut it myself, dried it and then turned it.
Please note : This vase is made of wood and is therefore only suitable for dried flowers. Filling it with water is not possible as this would damage the material.
