Short description:
These vases are turned from old roof beams from a horse stable. They are offered as a pair and are approx. 35 cm high.
Material:
When building a new horse stable on the property of a farm friend, the old beams were supposed to be used as firewood. However, since they had such a long history, I decided to use them for turning instead. Since spruce is a fairly common wood, I used what is known as Yakisugi processing here.
The wood was treated using the Yakisugi method. Yakisugi means "burning". Strictly speaking, the wood is not only burned, but also brushed . This creates a great contrast to the lighter body of the vase.
Please note: as the vase is made of wood and is not sealed, it is only suitable for dried flowers. It should never be filled with water as this would damage the vase.
